Designer Stefunny Hladek is fashionable and lady like but a punk rebel at heart. That dichotomy permeates her designs and explains her slogan, “Sugar and spice, naughty and nice.” In less than a year, this former art gallery owner started a new business designing novelty bridal underwear and gifts and is expanding into children’s wear.
“It’s like a dream come true. I mean it is a dream come true. It’s what I’ve wanted since I was 3 years old,” she says.
Having been a bridesmaid five times gave Hladek particular insight into the disappointing world of bridal gifts. “It was hard trying to find interesting, fun gifts for my friends,” she says. She decided to make her own.
There are comfy, cute panty-camisole sets for the bride in blue and in pink, and similar sets with naughtier sayings and logos for the honeymoon and even the bridesmaids.
Her line is available in San Antonio at Christo’s Home and Diane’s, and in New Braunfels at the William Edge Salon. For more information, contact one of the retailers or visit www.cottoncandygirl.com
